The YamPAD is a mechanical number pad with hot swap sockets and a fully editable layout. Twenty keys, a wooden case and firmware where every key can be mapped to whatever you want.
Full-size keyboards bolt the number pad permanently to the right, which pushes your mouse further away than it needs to be. A separate pad solves that: put it wherever suits you, or put it in a drawer when you do not need it.
My name is Jan Falba. Since 2014 I have built every keyboard here myself: I mill the case on my own CNC, solder the electronics, test it on macOS, Windows and Linux, and pack it for shipping. Yours gets built once you order it.
By default the YamPAD works as a normal number pad. You can map the keys to anything though: application shortcuts, macros, media controls, scene switching in OBS. Layers work here just as they do on a keyboard, so one key switches the whole set of functions and twenty keys cover several sets at once.

The YamPAD is a one-piece board, so the wireless version needs only one controller and one battery. That is why it costs less to go wireless here than on a split keyboard.
Keys, layers and the main layout functions are changed directly in the VIAL app or ZMK Studio, depending on the version you choose. There is no need to compile firmware yourself, create a GitHub account or wait for a build to finish.
Connect the keyboard, edit the layout and save it. The new configuration works immediately.
Hot swap sockets mean you change switches without a soldering iron. Switches push in by hand and come out with a simple switch puller.
Eight Cherry MX options, from light 45 g Reds to heavy 70 g clicky Greens. I source them directly from Germany and use genuine Cherry MX switches.
I mill the case from bamboo or acacia on my own CNC. Every piece has different grain, so no two keyboards look alike. Wood softens the sound of typing and feels warmer under your hand than aluminium.
It is hand-finished with two coats of a lacquer also intended for finishing wooden toys. If you prefer a modern look, there is a 3D-printed PETG case in black or white.
I mill, solder, sand, finish, test and pack every keyboard myself. I repair every keyboard I have ever built, whether it left this workshop in 2014 or yesterday. You pay for parts and shipping, the work itself is on me.
Does it work as a plain number pad out of the box? Yes, it ships with a standard numeric layout. Changing it is optional.
Can I assign macros? Yes, in the VIAL app or ZMK Studio, depending on the version.
Do I need to know how to code? No. You edit the layout visually in the VIAL app or ZMK Studio, depending on the version you choose.
How long does it take to make? The standard lead time is around 15 working days. Every keyboard is built by hand after the order is placed. During busier periods, or when storms cause power outages in the rural area where my workshop is located, it may take slightly longer.
Will I get an invoice? Yes. FalbaTech is a registered Polish business.
