USB-C controller upgrade
The micro USB port on older Pro Micro controllers is the single most common failure point in a custom keyboard. It is held on by a few small pads, and after a few hundred cable insertions it starts to lift. Once it does, the keyboard goes dead mid-sentence.
This service replaces the controller with a USB-C version. The connector is mechanically stronger, the cable goes in either way round, and you stop treating your own keyboard carefully.
What you get
- New controller with a USB-C connector
- Firmware flashed and configured for your keyboard
- A new braided USB-C cable included
- Testing on macOS, Windows and Linux before shipping
How it works
- Write to me and tell me which keyboard and which controller you currently have.
- You send the keyboard, I fit the new controller and flash it.
- The keyboard goes back with the layout you had, unless you ask for changes.
