The ReDOX FT Cosmos keeps everything people like about the ReDOX, 70 keys with a number row, full modifiers and a large thumb cluster, and adds a curved, sculpted 3D key-well. Each column follows the natural arc of your finger, so you reach the keys by curling your fingers instead of stretching them.
You choose the switch type (full-size Cherry MX or low-profile Kailh Choc v1) and the connection (wired or wireless). The layout is the same in every version.
My name is Jan Falba. Since 2014 I have built every keyboard in my workshop in Poland myself. I print the case, solder the electronics, test each keyboard on macOS, Windows and Linux, and pack it for shipping. Yours gets built once you order it.
The curved key-well is a true 3D shape that can only be 3D-printed. That is why the Cosmos case is made only in PETG, in the colour you choose, and is not available in wood. If you would like a bamboo or acacia case, choose the flat ReDOX FT instead.
| Cherry MX | Kailh Choc v1 (low profile) | |
|---|---|---|
| Feel | classic full travel | shorter travel, lower keyboard |
| Switches | genuine Cherry MX: Red, Silent Red, Silver Speed, Brown, Clear, Blue, Black, Green | Kailh Choc v1: Red (linear, 50 g), Brown (tactile, 55 g) |
| Keycaps | DSA PBT | MBK PBT |
| Hot-swap sockets | yes | yes |
Please choose switches and keycaps that match your switch type: MX switches with DSA keycaps, or Choc switches with MBK keycaps. MX and Choc parts are not interchangeable.
| Wired | Wireless | |
|---|---|---|
| Firmware | VIAL | ZMK |
| Connection | USB-C | Bluetooth LE or USB-C |
| Configuration | VIAL app or browser | ZMK Studio in the browser |
| Controller | RP2040 | nice!nano v2 |
| Power | from the USB cable | a 1000 mAh battery in each half, charged over USB-C |
In the wireless version the halves talk to each other without a cable. Battery life depends on use: typically up to a month for the left half, which connects to the computer, and up to several months for the right half. The wireless version can also type over USB-C when the left half is plugged in.
You change keys, layers and combos directly in VIAL or ZMK Studio, depending on the version. No compiling, no GitHub account, no waiting for a build. Connect the keyboard, edit the layout, save it, and it works straight away.
Hot-swap sockets let you push switches in by hand and pull them out with a simple switch puller. You can try a different switch any time.
Below you choose the connection, switch type, case colour, switches, keycaps, cables and extras: a wrist rest set, a custom-fit oriBag felt case and a felt desk pad.
I print, solder, test and pack every keyboard myself. Over more than ten years several thousand keyboards have left this workshop for customers all over the world. I repair all of them, whether they were built in 2014 or yesterday. You pay for parts and shipping; the work itself is on me.
Can I get the Cosmos in wood? No. The curved key-well can only be 3D-printed, so the Cosmos is made in PETG only. For a wooden case, choose the flat ReDOX FT.
MX or Choc? Choose MX if you like classic full-travel switches and want the widest choice of switches and keycaps. Choose Choc if you prefer a lower keyboard and shorter key travel.
Do I need to know how to code? No. You edit the layout visually in VIAL or ZMK Studio.
How long does it take to make? The standard lead time is around 15 working days. In busy periods, or when storms cause power cuts in the rural area where my workshop is, it may take slightly longer.
Will I get an invoice? Yes. FalbaTech is a registered Polish business, and EU companies with a valid VAT ID can be invoiced with reverse charge.
