Redox Wireless upgrade service
The classic Redox Wireless, sold from 2018, used a receiver-based wireless link. It worked, but it was never as stable as what is possible today: interference, dropouts and reconnection problems were part of daily use.
This service replaces the internals with a new PCB of my own design. Your case, keycaps and switches stay. What changes is everything underneath.
The new board gives you
- Hot swap sockets: switches change by hand, no soldering
- Controllers fully compatible with nice!nano v2
- Bluetooth Low Energy with a 1000 mAh battery in each half
- ZMK firmware with ZMK Studio support, so you edit the layout in a browser
- Full fit into your existing wooden, PVC, bamboo or 3D-printed case
Or go wired instead
If you would rather have no batteries at all, the same board is available in a wired build on VIAL, with a simple USB-C connection.
Two ways to do it
- Send the keyboard to me. I desolder and clean your switches, fit them into the new board, assemble, test and send it back.
- Do it yourself. Order the board with the electronics already soldered and swap it in your own workshop.
Compatible with every Redox Wireless with a receiver, built from 2018 onwards.
